Before blossoming into a choral of presences, the voices of which Alain Françon has chosen from amongst some of the greatest,  the last text by Peter Handke begins with a landscape, the most indefinable landscape imaginable, the kind of place that appears when you close your eyes.  Then voices start to emerge and the journey begins.  From this point on, the flow of time seems to run in all directions.  Here, you can talk with your ancestors.  Over there, you might be older than your own mother.  Or have a fistfight with the teenager you once were, or get to know your uncles who died during the war or took arms against the nazis.  The beauty of STORM STILL, mixing tenderness and anger, is as delicate as the mayflies whose praise Handke sings, mayflies, those fragile insects who only live for a day before being dispersed by the wind…
