Support Arts education programs

As part of its mission to reach new and wider audiences, the Odéon-Théâtre de l'Europe is involved in numerous audience awareness programs  for young people, students and those with limited access to culture.

The different projects lead by the Odéon-Théâtre de l'Europe enable participants to take their first steps in the practice of theatre, widen their literary and theatrical culture, develop their approach to seeing a show or even visit the backstage areas of the theatre.

Adolescence et territoire(s)

First workshop at l'Espace 1789 de Saint-Ouen from 26 to 30 October 2015

Each season, the « Adolescence & territoire(s) » program, initiated in 2012, gives a group of twenty teenagers who live in the Ateliers Berthier neighbourhood the opportunity to participate in the creation of a piece of theatre throughout the year, under the guidance of a director from the Odéon-Théâtre de l'Europe season of shows.

Manon Thorel and Julie Lerat-Gersant (from the La Piccola Familia company) will be directing the 4th edition of Adolescence et Territoire(s).

This program is supported by Vivendi Create Joy.

Génération(s) Odéon

In september 2014, the Odéon-Théâtre de l'Europe initiated a two-year long program aimed at discovering European theatrical creation. Targeted at pupils from fourth and fifth grade attending schools in Île-de-France, the main objective is to prompt these youngsters to develop a humanist and literary culture at this particularly delicate period of transition in their schooling, in which professional orientation comes into play. Each year a crowdfunding campaign provides the necessary financing for a new class to be integrated into the program.

Partnering schools :9th grade class from Collège Jules Ferry, Maisons-Alfort (94), 9th grade class from Collège Saint Vincent, Paris 18e, 8th grade class from Collège Pierre Brossolette, Villeneuve-Saint-Georges (94), 8th grade class from Collège Jean Jaurès, Clichy-la-Garenne (92)

This program is support from the Edmond de Rothschild foundations and individual donors through the crowdfunding campaign.

Other arts education programs

As part of its « Artistes à l'école » program, the Casino Foundation participates in arts access programs at the Odéon via its support for the "Les Tréteaux" theatre workshop in collaboration with Groupe Scolaire La Madone.

The work developed during the workshops by the 40 middle and high school teenagers throughout the year culminates in the creation of a show, which is performed in Paris, on tour and at the Odéon-Théâtre de l'Europe at the end of the school year.
