On the occasion of the 10-year anniversary of Cock, Cock.. Who’s There?, Samira Elagoz is joined by Carolina Bianchi and Simon(e) van Saarloos for a conversation on reclaiming power, examining men, and the art of making work about sexual violence and queer desire.
Carolina Bianchi is a Brazilian author and performer who has lived in Europe since 2020. She is the director of the Cara de Cavalo collective, based in São Paulo, with which she recently created TRILOGIE CADELA FORÇA – Chapitre I : The bride and the Goodnight Cinderella (2023) and Chapitre II : The Brotherhood (2025). Her previous creations include O Tremor Magnífico ("The Magnificent Tremor", 2020), Lobo ("Wolf", 2018). Carolina Bianchi is the recipient of the Silver Lion 2025 from the Venice Dance Biennale.
Simon(e) van Saarloos is the author of Against Ageism: A Queer Manifesto (2023), Take 'Em Down. Scattered Monuments and Queer Forgetting (2021), and Playing Monogamy (2019), as well as several works in Dutch. Their writings have been published in journals such as TSQ and Porn Studies. They also write for theater and fiction. In parallel, Saarloos works as an independent curator and artistic collaborator. Among their recent projects are the dramaturgy for the performance duo Cardellini & Gonzalez, and GIVE PISS A CHANCE. A Willing Suspension of Consequences.
Samira Elagoz is a Finnish-Egyptian filmmaker and performer currently living between Amsterdam and Berlin. For several years, he devoted his artistic practice to researching and filming cis men in dating protocols, when he was still a female artist. He has presented his works worldwide in various international contexts of performance art, cinema, and visual art. In Seek Bromance (2021), Elagoz films his own transition and his encounter with another trans artist. The film was awarded the Silver Lion at the Venice Biennale.
