In Les Idoles (Odéon, 2019), Christophe Honoré had given center stage to the artists he admired in order to better dream of their meeting each other. In The Sky Over Nantes, he sets himself among the other characters. In front of us, a disused cinema. Christophe’s family, resurrected at his call, is watching an impossible film : the one that would have told the story of them all. Three generations are present. Questions, things left unsaid, resurface. Lost memories are found ; some are offered as gifts. Old wounds reopen, a legacy of violence, of madness, is passed on... Christophe has a hard time trying to untangle the family skein. But a thread runs throughout the show: his need to speak, with heartbreaking tenderness, to all the people he has loved.
