Counterpoints seminar on Edelweiss [France Fascisme]

Fascism: gender, art and politics:

As a counterpoint to Sylvain Creuzevault's play Edelweiss [France Fascisme], which features writers and politicians selected from the French far right from the late 1930s through to collaboration and the purge, a round table discussion led by Frédéric Regard and Anne Tomiche (professors at Sorbonne University) will bring together four specialists who will combine their views to examine the place of women in art and politics, as well as gender relations in this period:

Philippe Roussin, poetician, specialist in the relationship between literature and politics between the two world wars, Emeritus Director of Research at the CNRS 

Anne Simonin, historian, specialist in the relationship between law and literature, director of research at the CNRS

Fabrice Virgili, historian, specialist in the two world wars and gender relations during this period, CNRS research director

Counterpoints seminar:

L'Odéon and Sorbonne University are joining forces for a seminar directed by Anne Tomiche and Frédéric Regard.

Over the course of three meetings, they will welcome speakers from diverse and complementary backgrounds to discuss gender issues in relation to the shows presented.
