One of the major works of the 20th century, but interpreted through its film adaptation ; the screenplay for a film but that exists only in book form ; and finally, a pure novel, whose heroine confronts with increasing pain, the limits of the world she lives in. These three texts, as presented through Warlikowski’s reading of them, focus on the same point. In each of them, the protagonists reach a threshold that they are unable to cross ; the threshold of « the Law , of life and of death ». K, Tony Costello wandering hopelessly through a labyrinth with no exit, that of a dream that is in fact our very substance. But as Warlikowski concludes, « there, where there is no exit, theater must go… »
