Cast

For this version of The Tempest, Pitoiset has assembled a cast of French, Italian, German and Tunisian actors. Each actor performs in his or her own language, each is used in a distinct style - the verve of commedia dell'arte, the psychological realism of the French School, the concrete theatricality of the Brechtian School. For Dominique Pitoiset, Prospero's island is theater itself, and therefore an illusion, conceived and animated by the old magician. All action is the same as the final dream, vaguely initiatic, which an old, blind father gives to his daughter from the depths of his mental palace.
