Danish baroness and author Karen Blixen, known by her pen name Isak Dinesen, is said to have offered her soul to the devil in exchange for a life worth writing about. Angélica Liddell in turn makes a pact with darkness, in the hope of transforming her suffering and transcending her hatred. To suffer in order to write, to write in order not to kill. As an outcast, Liddell orchestrates an occult ritual on the ruins of a shattered love, a five-hour monument, to better ward off her desire for revenge. After Liebestod and before Dämon, Vudú comes as a curse. It is also an opportunity for the artist of this bloody poetic art to recall, through its negativity, the sacredness of theatre and the sacrifice that results from it.
