Closing Night of the “A Weekend in the East” Festival

To bring the festival to a close, Polish composer Zbigniew Preisner, a leading figure in film music and a close collaborator of Krzysztof Kieślowski, presents a two-part programme.

Requiem for My Friend, composed in 1996 following Kieślowski’s death, pays tribute to the filmmaker whose final journey Preisner accompanied through his music. The second part, My Life, offers a piano reinterpretation of themes from his film scores, freely performed by jazz pianist Dominik Wania.

An evening where music, cinema and memory come together.
