All performances are surtitled in English every day (except Honda Romance, Pétrole and Pallaksch Pallaksch!)
* Panthea Device :
For more accessibility, the Odéon-Théâtre de l'Europe is testing an augmented reality glasses device designed by Panthea that offers a translation surtitled in French, English, German and Italian as well as an audio description and a translation into the French Sign Language (LSF).
The 6 possibilities will be simultaneously accessible, according to the choice of the spectators. The user can choose the date of the performance to which he or she wishes to attend, his or her place as any other spectator, alone or accompanied. This customization allows you to attend the show in complete autonomy and under the best conditions.
The specific content – multilingual surtitles (French, English, German, Italian), adapted in French, large print and translation into French sign language – is projected directly onto the lenses and can be adapted to the viewer’s needs. Thus allowing optimal accessibility for non-French-speaking spectators, as well as blind and visually impaired spectators and spectators with hearing disabilities.
Among the first to use augmented reality to make live entertainment more accessible, Panthéa has been running projects in different cities in Europe since 2015, including Paris, Berlin and Avignon. This new technology allows the projection of individual surtitles to each equipped viewer. Subtitles in another language can also be played simultaneously above or next to the stage.
