The Almasty is a legendary creature from the Caucasus, a large primate whose name means 'wild man.' Drawing from this archaic imaginary, Myriam Gourfink creates a sixty-minute solo, custom-written for Deborah Lary, which unfolds exclusively on the ground within a four-square-meter space. The score weaves together three spaces—aerial, terrestrial, and that of the venue itself—plunging the dancer into extreme tension: minute tremors, heavily strained body parts, and cellular vibrations driven to their highest intensity.
